If you are thinking about volunteering in the Brighton and Hove area, this page has all the information you might need to help you make that decision.
How to search for volunteering opportunities
You can search the Do-It website for hundreds of volunteering opportunities in the Brighton and Hove area.
Do-it is the national volunteering database and we upload new Brighton and Hove-based volunteering opportunities every week, so if you don’t find something that interests you on your first search, please look again!
You can take a quick look at the most recent volunteering opportunities in Brighton and Hove by clicking on the yellow 'New Opportunities' bulletin to the right.
The bulletin is just a guide - if you are interested in any of these opportunities you will still need to visit www.do-it.org.uk and search for the opportunity. From the Do-It website, click on 'Advanced Search' on the home page then enter 'Brighton and Hove' in the first box and the job title in the 'keywords' box.
Volunteering Experiences
Read about one volunteer’s experience of volunteering.
If you've had a volunteering experience that you think would inspire others, let us know by emailing info@volunteercentre.bh-impetus.org
Important Notice about Interviews
If you decide to pursue a volunteering opportunity and are offered an interview, please do your best to attend. Organisations frequently tell us that they arrange interviews for people who then fail to turn up.
If you can’t make an interview please let the organisation know as soon as you can - they often invest valuable time and resources in arranging interviews.

Drop-in service
You can also find out more about the opportunities by visiting us at the Volunteer Centre in Hove during our drop-in times. It is an ideal chance to browse the opportunities available and also to speak to a member of our team should you require advice relating to your volunteering.
You do not need to make an appointment to use the drop-in service.
Volunteering opportunities for political interns
Broadly speaking, the Volunteer Centre Brighton & Hove does not hold details for volunteering opportunities within party political organisations. However, if you are interested in this area of volunteering and/or internships you may find the following link useful.
The w4mp website is designed for everyone who is working for an MP.
Are you a volunteer with IT skills?
