Our Good Practice Guide

The Volunteer Centre's Good Practice Guide provides you with invaluable information and resources with which to build and develop your volunteering programme ensuring that volunteers have a positive experience with your organisation or group.


Volunteer Co-ordinators Forum

The Volunteer Co-ordinators' Forum aims to enable volunteer managers in Brighton & Hove to feel supported in their role, connected with their peers and have the opportunity to develop their skills and share their experience in the management of volunteers to the benefit of the volunteering environment.

If you have direct responsibility for managing or co-ordinating volunteers in Brighton & Hove you are welcome to join the Forum, whatever the size of your organisation and whether your role is paid or unpaid. Once you have registered as a Forum member you will automatically receive invitations to future meetings.


The Forum holds regular meetings at the Friends Meeting House, Ship Street which are open to all its members. Meetings are held  between 10.30am and 12.30pm, followed by free lunch and networking. The next Forum is on Thursday 1st March, 2012.

Value Volunteer Management Campaign

Time to Celebrate Success!

Volunteering England's 'Value Volunteer Management' campaign has been aiming to raise the profile of volunteer management as a profession, and to encourage key decision-makers in volunteer-involving organisations to recognise, support and invest in volunteer management.

But with the campaign coming to an end in March 2011, it’s time to assess its impact. How successful has it been and how far has it reached?
