Verity’s Volunteering

Verity Community Navigation

A good opportunity to … offer my time to support the local community.

I joined Community Navigation in February 2017, as a new comer to the area I felt it a good opportunity to become familiar with local services and offer my time to support the local community.

The induction and training have been robust, new Community Navigators are invited to attend a training day where we are brought together as a team and introduced to the service. This was very clear and put together with great thought, we were all provided with folders containing a plethora of useful information and documents to guide us in our new roles.

I have felt supported to develop at my own pace and have been given opportunities to expand my understanding of the service through attending home visits, team meetings, and peer support in the office. I have also been given access to training relevant to my role.

Now three months into volunteering I feel ready to start holding a case load, I feel reassured that I have been supported thoroughly in this. This is positive and shows great consideration towards the service meeting the volunteer’s needs.

I would highly recommend this to anyone who wishes to become involved and give something back to the community.

Thank you Verity for volunteering with Community Navigation and for your positive comments about the training, you will make a difference with the time you give.

Could you be a volunteer like Verity?
