We Need Money!
Aspire is a very small project – Sarah is paid for 21 hours per week to run the project and Dave is paid for 12 hours per week. Like lots of voluntary organisations, we are constantly struggling to raise money to keep the project going. The project costs £35,000 per year to run at our current level, which sounds like a lot, but this doesn’t pay for very much.
We have a waiting list of over 30 people who are waiting for a mentor and we cannot help them, as we don’t have the time. Sarah is working at raising more money to make the project bigger and make sure that it doesn’t close.
One of the small things we would like to do is to raise some funds for our Social Group, which has outgrown the office and needs more help in running it. We need about £5,000 per year.
We’d like to ask for your help in helping us to work towards this target.
Here are some ways that you might be able to help us:
- Organising a fund-raising group to help us raise money.
- Selling unwanted items on eBay or having a car boot sale and donating some of the money to Aspire.
- Running a sponsored events and getting people to sponsor you to do it. Things like: Keeping silent for a day, eating a lot of baked beans, walking 5 miles.
- If you work or know people that do, perhaps their company would like to raise funds for us or can donate items that we could raffle or auction.
- Perhaps you know people who like to donate money to charity. Please tell them about our work. We can organise direct debits for people who wish to donate something every month.
- Running the Brighton Marathon on our behalf.
If you would like to help in any way please contact Sarah Hendrickx on 01273 229009 or email her at sarah.hendrickx@bh-impetus.org

ASpire is currently funded by the Three Guineas Trust to provide project costs and Project Leader until June 2012.
