Saturday Morning at the Chapel RoyalPosted on 5th December 2016 by Sean de Podesta
We would like to say a big thank you to everyone at the Chapel Royal for making Impetus Neighbourhood Care Scheme (NCS) their charity of the month for their Saturday morning café. This means that we will receive the proceeds of their sessions each Saturday morning in December.
We would also like to thank NCS volunteers Rita Garner and Helen Schilizzi for helping out at the counter. It looks as if they were born to it.
Jude de Podesta, who is volunteering with us as part of his Duke of Edinburgh Award, also lent a helping hand. He had his work cut out with the washing up. Thanks, Jude!
Having a display in a central location was a great opportunity to let people know about the Impetus Christmas campaign: “No one should be lonely in Brighton & Hove”. This shows an easy way of supporting the work of Impetus in combating isolation and loneliness.
We will be at the Chapel Royal again between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the next four Saturdays, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st December. Why not come along and have a mug of great-tasting fair trade coffee and a piece of homemade cake? You’ll be helping to raise money for NCS and escaping from the frantic Christmas rush of Brighton city centre in one of the city’s hidden gems. The Chapel Royal is on North Street, Brighton BN1 1EA. Chapel Royal regulars Margaret, Jo and Fran — along with NCS volunteers — will give you a warm welcome. We look forward to seeing you. Be tempted by the cakes!
