The Living Wage CampaignPosted on 28th October 2014 by Impetus
We are proud to announce that we’ve signed up to the Living Wage Brighton & Hove Campaign, a local campaign started by the Brighton and Hove Living Wage commission to make sure that employees throughout the city are being paid fairly.
The goal of the Living Wage campaign is to make sure that shops, businesses and organisations throughout Brighton and Hove are paying their workers enough to not just survive, but to enjoy life and live it to the fullest.
Over 130 organisations have pledged their support to the campaign, including UNISON, Grassroots Suicide Prevention, the ethical supermarket Hisbe, the Starr Trust, Mind in Brighton & Hove, and Brighton and Hove Bus Company.
We know that what we do as an organisation is only possible because of the skills, commitment and enthusiasm of our staff, as well as that of our volunteers. We work hard to reward and recognise both and making a public commitment to the Living Wage is just one way we try to do this.
We also know that the voluntary and community sector is an important employer in the City, on a par with the Digital sector in terms of numbers employed, and we have a responsibility to practice what we preach.
