Celebrating our communitiesPosted on 12th July 2012 by Jo Ivens
People’s Day is an annual fixture in the Brighton community calendar and is a chance to celebrate the achievements, the diversity and the amazing range of activities that go on in our communities.
This year two Impetus projects will be there flying the flag for their services! we’ll be in the heart of the Health & Wellbeing Zone on Jubilee Road – near the central library.
Pensioner Action is one of our services for Older People – we campaign for appropriate services for older people within Brighton and Hove. We work particularly around health and are focusing at the moment on the themes of access to GP appointments and raising awareness of the new Patient Participation Groups. Come along and talk to us about your views on your health services, and pick up a copy of The Pensioner magazine.
InterAct is our service for adults with learning disabilities. We provide advocacy, support, information and training services. We aim to ensure that those with learning disabilities are able to access the right services and information that they need. We also support the GT Club, a social club run by and for adults with a learning disability.
We run a Pop-In service providing advice and help, you can find out more about our services from our friendly and expert workers.
Come along and see us on Saturday – we’ll be on Jubilee Road, under the Impetus banner and some jaunty bunting, offering free home made cake and information about our work to all those who stop for a chat!
